OBIT, etc. Sarah HAIGH BETTIS


Sarah H. BETTIS, Jamestown Post Journal, 10-27?-1958;

           Mrs. Sarah HAIGH BETTIS, former resident of North Warren and of Carver street, Warren, died Saturday morning at Gowanda, N. Y., at the age of 90.

          Born in Harrisburg August 22, 1868, she was the widow of Fred M. BETTIS. While in Warren, she was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal church.

          Surviving are three children, Donald BETTIS, Dewittville, N. Y.; Mrs. Earl CARMONY, Erie; Mrs. Dorothy COOPER, Kissimmee, Fla.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Another son, Myron Morris BETTIS, preceded her in death March 4, 1955.

          The Rev. Beecher M. RUTLEDGE, rector of Trinity Memorial church, conducted services in her memory at a local funeral home at

2:00 p. m. today and internment followed in Oakland cemetery.

          Funeral services were held at 2:00 p. m. Monday for Mrs. Sarah HAIGH BETTIS, former resident of North Warren and Warren. Rev. Beecher M. RUTLEDGE, of Trinity Memorial Episcopal church, officiated, and the following served as bearers for internment in Oakland cemetery: Wallace CAVE, Tom BETTIS, Dave and John ANDRESS.

          Attending from away were; Mr. and Mrs. Don BETTIS, Mrs. Isabella SCOTT, Dewittville, N.Y.; Mrs. Earl CARMONY, Mrs. Elda ANDERSON, Erie; Mr. And Mrs. Tom BETTIS, Dianne BETTIS, Jamestown, N.Y.; Mr. And Mrs. Dave ANDRESS, Pittsfield; Mrs. Fern ANDRESS and family, Mr. And Mrs. John ANDRESS, Limestone, N.Y.; Mr. And Mrs. Wallace CAVE, Jr., Fredonia, N.Y.

Services- Lutz- Vermilgea Funeral Home, 10-27-1958, Warren, Pa., 2 P. M.

 

Clergy officiating-Rev. Beecher RUTLEDGE, Trinity Episcopal Church.

 

Bearers- Mr Wallace CAVE, Mr Thomas BETTIS, Mr David ANDRESS, Mr. John ANDRESS.

 

Final resting place- Oakland Cemetery, lot 101, T section, block 3.

Warren, Warren Co., Penna.

Laid to rest, 2:30 27th Oct. 1958
